How to Set Up Alerts on myQ Garage Door Openers
To set up a text alert with myQ, you need to follow these simple steps:
- Open the app and tap the + symbol.
- Click on the “Notifications” tab.
- Select the device you want to set an alert for.
- Give your notification a name.
- Decide what conditions need to be met to warrant an alert.
- Choose notifications or delayed reminders.
- Determine what times and days you want to be notified.
- Select whether you want push notifications or email alerts.
- Save your selections.
You can set notifications to go off when your garage door is open, closed or stopped. Or, you can choose to get alerts when the garage light is on or off. Decide if you want the reminders within seconds of the action or if you’d prefer a reminder after several minutes.
How to Use the myQ App Schedule

- Enter the myQ app and press the “Schedules” tab.
- Tap the + symbol.
- Select the devices you want to set a schedule for, then tap the arrow to continue.
- Choose the action you want to be completed, such as locking, unlocking or closing the door.
- Set the time you want the action to happen, then select the days.
- Decide whether you want push or email notifications.
- Name your schedule.
- Click the “Save” button.
Now you have created a schedule for a particular action. You can create multiple myQ garage door schedules based on different activities, such as closing the door after you leave for work or turning the garage lights on five minutes before you normally pull into the driveway.
